The exhibition raises as a coexistence between different relations of power, through an installation consisting of several works. The works are presented as a space of dialogue between questionable dictations, power relations, as opposed to personal or collective freedom in the face of the institutional contingency of the normativity.
Artist duo, Bobrikova & de Carmen, has been working together since 2005. Their practice, which is often community based, aims at setting up new social ecosystems. By revolving around the mechanisms and context by which power creates systems of value, they seek to intervene on the border between art and current topics of contemporary life in order to bring about the proposition of the transitory and the utopian.
They have participated in several residencies such as Sweet Home / Hablar en Arte / Curators Network, KulturKontakt Austria, Nida art Colony, MeetFactory. Their works were presented in venues and projects such as 5th Odessa Biennale(2017); Saitama Triennial (2016); 2nd Tbilisi Triennial, Prague Quadrennial (2015); Centre Contemporary Art Singapore (2014); Museum of Contemporary Art Roskilde (2012); Center of Contemporary Art – Tbilisi, Roda Sten (2010). Since 2012, as part of their art practice, they run Nomad AIR artist-in-residence program and recently in 2017 they co-funded Future Utopia Community Key project which is dedicated to the activities in the rural village of Uddebo and the area.
They are currently artists in residency in Krems an der Donau, Austria.
